RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH SPARROW HEALTH SYSTEM FOR SPACE AT 1100 W. SAGINAW

RESOLUTION #03-138

WHEREAS, Ingham County leases space from Sparrow Health System for the operation of a community health center at 1100 W. Saginaw, Lansing; and

WHEREAS, the lease agreement has expired, and the County and Sparrow have negotiated the terms and conditions of a new lease; and

WHEREAS, the Health Officer has recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize a lease agreement with Sparrow Health System to extend the occupancy for the Ingham Community Health Center at St. Lawrence.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes a lease agreement with Sparrow Health System for occupancy of 3,878 square feet of space in the Medical Center West Building, 1100 W. Saginaw, Lansing, Michigan.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the period of the lease shall be September 1, 2002 through August 30, 2006.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that during the first year of the lease, September 1, 2002 through August 30, 2003, the lease rate shall be $16.50 per square foot and that the rate shall increase by 3% for 2003-2004 and by 3% in each of the remaining years of the lease.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Sparrow Health System services to be provided in support of the Health Center's occupancy shall include: parking, utilities, cleaning, a telephone system and appropriate wiring for computer and voice transmission.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the lease agreement after review by the County Attorney.
